Welcoming Jeff Immelt to SPARK 2019: Stories of Driving Change and Transformation

Our goal at SPARK is to help our customers, and the Sourcing industry overall, transform their organizations and step forward into a position of prominence. So, to set that innovative tone, we’re curating two full days of technology, techniques, and totally new ways to think about leadership. A key ingredient in that recipe is our dynamic list of speakers and keynotes for you to learn from. Today, I have the distinct honor of welcoming Jeff Immelt to that list of distinguished keynote speakers at SPARK 2019.

The 9th Chairman of General Electric (GE), Immelt served as CEO for 16 years, transforming GE into a simpler, stronger, and more focused digital industrial company. To accomplish that, he set out to completely revamp the company’s strategy, global footprint, and culture, positioning GE for the future. What was the effect of that change? During his tenure, industrial earnings doubled and GE returned $143B in dividends.

Jeff has written extensively on the practice of leadership and transformation, both on a global and local stage. In particular, I’ve found his comments on leading through cycles, helping teams navigate crises, and the impact of digital transformation incredibly helpful for our team here at Scout. At SPARK, Immelt will be diving into these topics and how Sourcing and Procurement can be that catalyst of change for any organization, and the impact this transformation can have to your company’s productivity, quality, and growth.
