The Scout RFP team is incredibly excited and proud to announce that we have entered into a definitive agreement with an industry leader in cloud-based ERP solutions, Workday

Five years ago, we founded Scout RFP with the vision to make RFPs painless, an idea born of the challenges we experienced responding to RFXs and the agony previously inherent in this process felt by both suppliers and the vendor issuers. It was a simple and noble cause. 

As we immersed ourselves in the industry and learned from our customers, it became clear how critical strategic sourcing is to the enterprise and that there was a massive opportunity to elevate this function to drive greater impact. Scout RFP set out to disrupt how companies use sourcing and procurement solutions by focusing on great user experience and adoption.

Thanks to a focused team, hundreds of forward-thinking enterprise customers, and top VC partners who believed in our mission, Scout RFP has grown by leaps and bounds. Today, there are nearly 300,000 global Scout RFP users in 155+ countries, and Scout RFP’s employee headcount has expanded by at least 60% this past year to better serve our 240+ global customers.

The Beginnings of a Perfect Procurement Partnership
We have been working with Workday for some time. For example, as a Workday Software Partner, we have developed a tight integration between our sourcing capabilities and Workday’s procure-to-pay capabilities to drive value with our many joint customers. Workday’s internal procurement team also saw the impact of Scout RFP’s solution and started to use the platform for internal sourcing. And in January of 2019, the Workday Ventures team decided to invest in our Series C financing round.

Working closely with the Workday team, we realized how similar our companies’ beliefs and values are. Both companies put user experience at the center of product focus and are committed to customer satisfaction, employee engagement, and overall business impact. It was not surprising how easy it was to work together and how quickly we saw success partnering on go-to-market activities. From a culture standpoint, it just worked.

The idea of coming together as one company became a realistic concept after spending months together with Workday’s leadership team. Workday had clearly transformed human capital management (HCM), is doing the same with financial management, and has started on the journey of transforming procurement. As part of this effort, Scout RFP’s team will play an important role in driving the strategy.

By joining Workday, Scout RFP will have the opportunity to accelerate sourcing’s impact. It gives us more room to develop integrations into multiple ERPs, including expanding integrations into Workday and other best-of-breed technologies. Finally, we’ll be able to execute strategies across the source-to-pay continuum, with a best-of-breed/suite approach, something few in our space can say.

Workday and Scout RFP: Going Forward into 2020
We want to assure our customers that it is business as usual. Scout RFP will continue building our core sourcing technology and support customers with more dedication than ever. We have long admired Workday and its success in scaling in several markets in such a short period of time. Together, Workday and Scout RFP will have the opportunity to do even more on the procurement front. 

Our mission to make strategic sourcing simpler, smarter, and more streamlined remains the same and we expect to be able to do it in a bigger way moving forward.
