In our Meet the Scouts series, we get to know the people who make the Scout magic possible. This week, we sat down with Amanda Jenkins, Strategic Account Executive, to learn more about her journey at Scout RFP, now a Workday company, and how Scout’s enormous growth has helped propel her career to new heights.
Amanda joined Scout RFP over two years ago–just a few months after we received our series B funding. Starting out as an Inside Sales Representative, Amanda has steadily moved up the ranks and is now a Strategic Account Executive. Most recently, Amanda was recognized as Scout’s “Top Gun,” or top salesperson, because of her hard work and dedication (dare we say, obsession?) to her customers.
During her time at Scout, Amanda has directly contributed to Scout’s growth, experiencing first-hand our series C round of funding and our recent acquisition by Workday. Why did you join Scout?
The logos! When I joined Scout there were only 62 employees and Scout was already working with a solid number of Fortune 500 companies. Now, we’ve more than doubled in size and we’re working with over 250 customers (and counting!), many of which Fortune 500 companies.
Did anything surprise you about Scout once you were working here?
How involved the founders are. Even after all our growth, they are still happy to help you with whatever you need–even if it’s traveling offsite to help get a customer over the line! It’s been such an awesome experience to work side by side with them.
How would you describe the environment at Scout?
Friendly. Collaborative. REWARDING!
What are the biggest challenges of your role?
Finding a room to book for demos! We are growing so quickly that the office is getting packed. I love the energy on our floor, but I am looking forward to moving to our new office soon. Fingers crossed for more conference rooms!
What makes a person successful in your position?
It sounds very cliche, but hard work, dedication, and building strong relationships with my clients. Staying focused on the customer’s pain points and needs will always steer you right at Scout.
Can you describe the advancement opportunities on your team?
I can personally speak to the advancement opportunities at Scout! You have so many opportunities to work in larger segments, advance to management, or even transition to a totally different department. Scout leadership is invested in you as an employee and they’ll do whatever they can to help you succeed.
How do you see the market opportunity for Scout’s product?
We can call into any industry from manufacturing to retail to healthcare! The opportunities are nearly endless.
What do you think makes us stand out from the rest in terms of places to work?
